John Hunter Hospital and John Hunter Children’s Hospital are critical infrastructure providing tertiary and local services to Greater Newcastle residents together with the residents of Hunter, New England and northern NSW regions. The John Hunter Health Campus has been recommended for redevelopment since 2013.
As part of the NSW Budget 2019/20, $780 million funding was committed for the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct (JHHIP). The project has delivered updated and enhanced health facilities providing extra capacity to meet the demand of the community, both locally in the Newcastle area and to enhance access for specialist services to the Hunter, New England and northern NSW regions.
The JHHIP project will provide a new acute service building housing expanded and enhanced facilities for a range of health services including an expanded Emergency Department, expanded and enhanced critical care services, inpatient services and support services. It will also enable more integrated services with key health, education and research partners.
TSA has been engaged to undertake project management services for Parts 0 to 2 and includes the health facility planning including the functional brief, business case development, design management, procurement and contract administration, project management, programming and scheduling, quality control and risk management.
