Westmead Precinct Redevelopment, Sydney NSW
Client: NSW Health Infrastructure

30% of the hospital upgraded
300 new patient rooms
95,559 m2 of redevelopment

Westmead Hospital is one of Australia’s largest health services precincts and the principal referral Hospital for Parramatta and Western Sydney. To ensure the facilities match the growth planned for Western Sydney, the Westmead Redevelopment is a $1b+ investment which will see an expansion to high-end adult and paediatric clinical and trauma services, development of a new Innovation Centre, NSW Infectious Diseases Unit, additional car parking and upgrades to services infrastructure.

TSA Advisory provided the role of Senior Project Director for the three key phases of the project from February 2015 to January 2017. During this period, the project evolved considerably, with TSA Advisory responsible for the definition of strategic objectives for the project and development of a revised masterplan to capture these evolutions and respond to objectives.  TSA also oversaw the consolidation of integration opportunities between Westmead Hospital, the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, University of Sydney and other precinct partners. This resulted in a $60m partnership between University of Sydney and Westmead Health Precinct, which encompassed a suite of new academic programs and initiatives.

TSA also provided an ongoing role through 2018, to support the procurement and initial delivery phase of the Redevelopment.
