Yacht TSA Management on the way to Hobart

30 December 2019

Congratulations to the crew of TSA Management

Congratulations to the crew of TSA Management on their successful voyage in the 75th Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, arriving at Constitution Dock just after 9pm on the 29th December 2019.

The crew included a mix of experience with skipper Tony Levett completing his 15th Sydney to Hobart, navigator Andrew Buckland his 8th and TSA project managers Thomas Rutter from Auckland and James Paddock from Sydney on their maiden voyage.

James had the following to say about the experience. “This was my first Sydney to Hobart race and having had it described to me as “an exercise in sleep deprivation”, and with knowledge of previous races, I approached the Sydney to Hobart with mixed feelings… However, once I got my head around the three-hour watches, my experience can be summed up as; fantastic bluewater sailing with a great team, moderate winds, mostly warm and sunny weather, intermittent dolphins and albatross, culminating with a big party on arrival to Hobart. I now have high expectations for future races.”

Of the 154 yachts that finished TSA crossed the line in 85th place, completing the race in 3 days, 8 hours, 13 minutes and 39 seconds. Giving the team the following placings: IRC category – 49, IRC – Div 5 – 11, ORCi – 33, Orci – Div 4 – 6 and 4 in the Sydney 38 division.
