Around the corner from the University of Melbourne, TSA was engaged to support GSA Australia on their first student accommodation project in Australia. Involved from the 50% design mark, our team provided full project management and superintendency consultancy services throughout the construction delivery of the project.
Considered the prototype for GSA’s other student accommodation projects (including Elizabeth St) the 12 story building features a range of apartment types, from studio through to six-bedroom. A number of communal spaces also exist, including kitchen, laundry, game zone, break out and study pods, and outdoor terrace.
Prior to the commencement of the Main Works on site, an Early Works package was undertaken to ready the site for the Main Works Contractor which included the removal of hazardous materials, demolition works, façade support and underpinning works.
Delivered via a Design and Construct procurement methodology with the Design Team novated across at 70% design to the Head Contractor meant the staged release of apartments during the construction delivery phase mitigated any direct impacts to any executed Tenancy Agreements, which allowed the tenants to move in based on their agreed schedule.
