Following NSW Government forecasts of an increase in the prison population by 2020 the State Government announced a $3.8 billion program to expand NSW prison capacity, with new facilities and conversions within existing correctional centres.
A Program Management Office (PMO) was established within Corrective Services to support the planning and delivery of the Prison Bed Capacity Program, with TSA Advisory engaged to undertake a review of the PMO to identify the necessary delivery support capabilities required to achieve program success. A detailed current state analysis was undertaken of PMO functions, services and roles, with identified opportunities for improvement.
The resultant blueprint provided a picture of the necessary future state capabilities (PMO functions, services, roles and products) and a roadmap to achieve the target capability step change.
