Orams Marine is a diverse marine business located in central Auckland. To cater for the ever-increasing demand for servicing superyachts and large private and commercial vessels, they are developing the site adjacent to their existing operation, formally a petrochemical storage facility, in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter. The amalgamation of the two sites creates a 20,000m2 marine precinct that not only enables Orams to increase the number of vessels it can service, but also the size. Vessels up to a length of 75 meters and 820 tonnes will be able to be lifted from the water, relocated, and serviced on the marine yard.
TSA provided full project management and Engineer to the Contract services for this multi-faceted development, from feasibility right through to design, procurement, and construction. The development includes the commissioning of an 820 and 85 tonne travel lift machines, construction of two seawalls, pier construction, ground contamination treatment and stabilisation, heavy-duty pavement construction, dredging, construction of superyacht marinas and the commissioning of a wash water treatment plant.
Two mixed-use buildings, 4 and 3 level, and a high stud double bay marine workshed were also constructed as part of the development. By March 2021 the facility was operational, as to coincide with the 2021 America’s Cup being held in Auckland.
