New Ways of Working Fitout, Hobart TAS
Australian Government Department of Health

2 storeys refurbished
5 months of delivery

Tasmania’s Department of Health (DoH) appointed TSA in October 2019 to project manage its proposed fitout project at 200 Collins Street, Hobart. The project was a trial site for the implementation of the department’s recently endorsed workplace strategy developed via its ‘New Ways of Working’ team.

As the first trial site to undergo a move from traditional office layouts to activity-based working, significant stakeholder engagement was required. This would help to understand the types of spaces and areas which the project office would require and how different types of working could be complemented through the fit out.

Communication was key throughout the development of the project, with the fitout undertaken to tight timescales due to expiring leases.

Working with a small team of design consultants based in various states across Australia, TSA collaborated closely with DoH to undertake the fitout and implement the workplace strategy for this project. This created a welcoming workplace for all staff that enhanced an integrated way of working, connecting healthcare to the community.
