Welcome Glenn Thornton

We are happy to announce the appointment of Glenn Thornton as our new General Manager, Northern NSW.

Glenn’s appointment strengthens TSA’s commitment to growing our presence in Northern NSW.

Having recently worked at the Port of Newcastle (PON) as Executive Manager, Projects & Assets, Glenn has decades of experience running projects and organisations in the Hunter region and across Australia. This has included work in the transport, energy, water and environment sectors.

At PON, Glenn built and led a team to deliver a program of $200m of projects. He was also involved in the master planning phase for the proposed Deepwater Container Terminal, valued at $2.4b. Glenn also implemented a fully integrated Project Management System and Asset Management Systems across 954 hectares of PON land split across five strategic precincts.

Glenn’s addition to our Northern NSW team strengthens our Advisory offering, bringing his experience as Director, Advisory (AUS) and Regional Director (NSW) for WSP. During this time, Glenn worked on the Hunter Water Asset Solutions Program. He pulled together a locally based WSP team that included the national water group and the advisory group, delivering a strong and credible local team. After being short-listed, WSP was appointed as the successful bidder and worked closely with Hunter Water on a 6-year program to upgrade water infrastructure throughout the Hunter.

Glenn also has experience in energy and hydrogen, smart cities, community consultation, rail and logistics, having worked closely with the City of Newcastle on implementing its smart city strategy and with the City of Auckland on a hydrogen buses network benchmarking study. Glenn was also part of the delivery leadership teams on the Newcastle Light Rail, Hunter Expressway and Wagga Wagga Intermodal projects.

Glenn clearly understands all commercial and community aspects of complex projects and is passionate about creating and sustaining trusted relationships with clients.

We look forward to having Glenn’s leadership in Northern NSW, based out of the Hunter.

TSA’s Regional General Manager of NSW, Marianne Foley, said, “We are reinforcing our position in Northern NSW with someone who is experienced, passionate about the region and will be a great leader for the team. Our clients want to hear more from us in the area to help with the transition to a new economy as well as delivering infrastructure for the residents of Northern NSW, and Glenn is someone who can help them.”

Glenn will work closely with Jason McCosker, who will fill the new role of GM Property, Northern NSW. Focusing on the property sector. Jason’s new role will enable him to take on Project Director roles, making him more available to key clients in the region.
