Brisbane’s Industry Insights
We recently held our annual Industry Insights client function in Brisbane. The Brisbane team and the Board mingled with our clients and industry colleagues to acknowledge and celebrate our involvement with some wonderful projects. The event was attended by over 100 people, with a mix of our current and future clients. Senior Project Manager Jane Meaney was the MC for the evening, with Lloyd Goves, Queensland General Manager, giving an update on some key projects. Guest speakers Greg Houghton (OneSky Program – Airservices) and Ilan Sagi (Inland Rail Line – ARTC) also shared some great insights with the attendees.
Greg shared his insights about integrating the Defence and Civilian airspace and operational systems, across 11% of the worlds surface through the OneSky program. He highlighted how one trial flight from LA to Melbourne with a new flight path saved about 10,000 litres of fuel. Ilan provided an excellent summary of the Inland Rail Project, which connects the freight network between Melbourne to Brisbane – all on one gauge!
Ilan talked about how ARTC are looking at the project differently, with new concepts and strategies to work with Governments, the private sector and the community to create a better network. Inland Rail will grow freight capacity by 24% by 2030 and then another 12% by 2050.
It was definitely a successful event. Thank you to all of our clients for attending; we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
