Congratulations to our Advisory promotions!

We are proud to announce several promotions across TSA Advisory. We love seeing our people grow into new and challenging leadership roles, enabling them to continue to support their clients and the wider TSA team.

John Nasr > Principal, Melbourne – John is a highly regarded expert in systems engineering. He uses a systems-thinking led approach to help clients optimise project development, operations, asset performance and organisational effectiveness. John has been promoted to Principal in recognition of the deep value he brings to our clients and their projects. He has advised on several major projects including Melbourne Airport Rail, Geelong Fast Rail, Suburban Rail Loop, NSW Regional Rail Fleet, Victoria’s New Rolling Stock Program, Barwon Heads Road Duplication, the Chevron Jansz-IC Project, and Defence’s Land 400 and Land 907.

Leon Gray > Principal, Melbourne – Leon’s career has spanned both deeply technical and strategic advisory. He brings these two strands together to help clients manage complex issues in high-risk settings. He recently worked with Victoria Police to solve procurement, project management, stakeholder and construction issues on a state-of-the-art training facility. He has worked across Australia and Africa to help solve complex technical, geographical and stakeholder challenges around the critical issue of mine waste.  Leon has been promoted to Principal in acknowledgement of his unique ability to find consensus in tricky settings, and help our clients solve thorny problems.

Matt Cassidy > Senior Associate, Sydney – Matt leverages his background as a project engineer and environmental coordinator to advise clients in the transport, water and resources sectors. He uses his hands-on experience to advise on cost, schedule and project management to ensure our clients can deliver their projects on time and on budget. His recent projects include project cost review for RMS, commercial administrator for the Automatic Train Projection project in NSW, and project manager for the Templestowe Road Upgrade Project under NELP. Matt has been promoted to Senior Associate.

James Brett > Associate, Sydney – James is a well-rounded consultant who brings together strategic and technical expertise to help our clients deliver complex transport projects. He has used his hands-on delivery experience to help streamline the transacting and delivery of several large and complex projects. These include Parramatta Light Rail, More Trains More Services, Batemans Bay Bridge Replacement and Newcastle Inner City Bypass. James has been promoted to Associate in recognition of his value to our clients’ projects.

Alasdair Dunlop > Associate, Sydney – Alasdair is a qualified civil engineer with extensive experience on major UK infrastructure projects. After moving to Australia in 2017, he pivoted his background in construction, engineering and project management to helping clients manage complex road and rail transactions. His contractor-side background and hands-on experience have helped him advise clients on real-world factors that can impact transaction timeframes and outcomes. His promotion to Associate recognises the value he’s provided to our clients on projects such as Sydney Metro Western City Airport, Mulgoa Road Upgrade and M1 to Raymond Terrace.

Karl Jackson > Associate, Wellington – Karl joined TSA after working for Waka Kotahi and the Ministry of Defence. He’s quickly shown the great value he can provide to our clients and is being promoted to Associate in his first year with us. Karl is an all-rounder who uses his industry experience to manage the interface between technical, commercial, environmental and legal aspects of his projects. Since joining us, he’s been helping the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment improve how government agencies procure contractors and consultants to deliver infrastructure for Kiwis.

Ben Porter > Senior Consultant, Sydney – Ben joined the Advisory team shortly after completing degrees in engineering and commerce. He’s since worked as part of teams providing cost reviews and estimates, transaction management, and technical and financial due diligence. Ben has progressed rapidly, applying his engineering and commercial skills to the road, rail and water sectors. Ben has been promoted to Senior Consultant in recognition of the value he’s provided to our clients on recent projects including Newcastle Inner City Bypass, Regional Rail, and Cross River Rail.

Connie Welsh > Senior Consultant, Brisbane – Connie’s career has been progressing rapidly since she joined us a few short years ago. She’s worked on a number of complex business cases including Coomera Connector Stage 1, Bundaberg Hospital Redevelopment, Cooktown Multipurpose Health Service Redevelopment, and Satellite Hospital’s Program. Connie has also worked on large transactions and strategic assessments and was recently promoted to Senior Consultant in recognition of her efficient and effective management of business cases for our clients.

Rob Christeller > Senior Consultant, Wellington – Rob has strong abilities in economic research, financial and economic modelling, data collection and analysis. During the first COVID lockdown, he stepped up to work remotely on a large electricity project in Malaysia. He’s become a go-to person for research-based tasks across the wider TSA team and has worked on multiple projects to evaluate New Zealand’s electricity transmission infrastructure. Rob’s promotion to Senior Consultant is in recognition of the excellent modelling and analysis he’s done for our clients, supporting them to deliver better infrastructure for their communities.
